Nos cuenta Samuel en un interesante artÃculo acerca de cuando un freelance debe decir no, a mi me ha pasado muchas veces, por regla general, la gente desconoce el trabajo de un webmaster profundamente, y lo infravalora de entrada, normalmente hay personas muy jóvenes dedicadas a esto y eso hace que ciertas personas muestren una reticencia inicial, porque prejuzgan y piensan que al ser alguien joven, sera alguien inexperto, y esa juventud no es condición sinecuanum de inexperiencia, mas bien es simplemente que es una persona joven amante de la tecnologÃa, y que posiblemente este mas preparada que alguien mas “mayor” ya que este mundo esta en constante cambio y es necesario personas activas. Además, todos estas nuevas formas que ahora se ven de Web 2.0 y tal, son tecnologÃas que aunque son antiguas, han explotado ahora y seas joven o seas viejo, llevaras “mas o menos” el mismo tiempo utilizando esta tecnologÃa, ya que son recientes. También debes pensar en ti y valorar tu mismo tu trabajo, establecer un precio a tu trabajo es algo necesario, yo al principio lo tenia un poco en el aire, dependiendo del cliente, y hacia muchas cosas “por amor al arte”, antes de presentarle el proyecto, diseñaba una web de prueba en base a las ideas del cliente, y si después el cliente por lo que sea habÃa cambiado de idea, tenia que volver a rediseñar todo, de hecho me ha pasado de tener que rediseñar por completo un sitio, desde el principio, después de haberme llevado 1 mes con un proyecto. Sin duda he pagado muchas novatadas..pero son necesarias para aprender como funcionan las cosas. Me gusta mucho el artÃculo de Samuel porque habla de cosas que suelen ocurrir y con las que me he sentido identificado en muchos aspectos, os cuento un poco el artÃculo. Algunas preguntas que nos propone Samuel en su artÃculo: ¿Puedes mostrarme un esquema que nos ayude a elegir el diseñador? NO. No trabajes gratis ni pierdas tiempo en un hipotético trabajo. Ya os comente que esto me ha pasado y de forma bastante grave, no lo hagáis, si quieren ver como quedarÃa de forma rápida, como mucho proporcionales una imagen con un esquema a grosso modo como quedarÃa la web, evidentemente que esta imagen no te ocupe mucho tiempo. ¿Puedes hacerme un descuento en el precio? NO. Especialmente si ofreces precios muy competitivos y que piensas que están por debajo del mercado, aceptar un descuento significa decir que podrÃas hacer el proyecto más barato, o que podrÃas ganarle menos sin problemas y no comprometerÃas negativamente tu propio “gasto de realización”. ¿Vas a registrar mi dominio y hospedar mi web? NO. Samuel dice que hay que responder que no, creo que esto depende de muchos factores, creo que registrar el dominio no te compromete en exceso, en cuanto al hosting si…que sea otra empresa la que cargue con “el muerto”, si hay problemas con el alojamiento, que no pueda reprocharte nada a ti el cliente, la gente en general es muy propensa a confundirse a la hora de asignar copiar este sitio? NO. De entrada puede acarrear problemas legales, también si te consideras un diseñador minimamente innovador, deberÃas eso mismo, innovar, aunque esto siempre es complicado, puedes “hacer estilos parecidos” o “orientarte” en base a otros estilos, lo que se suele llamar “encontrar la inspiración”, pero nunca calcar escrupulosamente, además no creo que esto haga que tu reputación crezca…mas bien todo lo Un diseñador web nunca deberÃa ser un mercenario, sino un artista. ¿Puedes tener esto terminado para esta noche o para mañana?
Jajajaja, es un insulto prácticamente esto, evidentemente NO. Es muy difÃcil saber cuando algo puede estar terminado, principalmente porque siempre debemos aplicar las leyes de Murphy y seguro que en algún aspecto o otro hay problemas y nunca debemos meter la mano en el fuego, si decimos que podemos terminarlo para una fecha demasiado próxima y después ocurre algo, el cliente se sentirá decepcionado e insatisfecho, además tu trabajaras con una presión añadida, nada recomendable esto. Also, I felt that the best way to guarantee uptime of at least one of my sites was to not host them all at the same web hosting service. Below I’ve listed the three hosting services I am currently using and some of the pros and cons of each one I have discovered so far. Web Hosting Service 1 - This is the web hosting service I am currently using for this web site ($6.95 per month w/1 yr sign-up). Web Hosting Service 2 I chose this hosting service in part because I needed a large amount of disk space and bandwidth for minimal cost ($3.99 per month 2 yr sign-up). This web host did not seem to be a fly-by-night operation, so I felt fairly secure signing-up for the two year contract to get the lower monthly price. Tag: hosting reviews
