Whats PHP Mail (Sendmail) And Do I Need It?

What is PHP Mail, otherwise referred to as sendmail, and do I need it?

Okay, we will start with what is sendmail, It basically in laymens terms allows you to send out emails to who you specify, it is used by scripts such as forums, CMS’s and so on for validation or contacting your users. But do you need it?

Do you truly need Sendmail? No you don’t really need it but it is a good thing to have, you can have it enabled on our service for 40 forum posts. We would like to give it for free, but the thing is, in free hosting services, a lot of people target free hosts by using scripts to spam people. We want to prevent this as much as possible.
